Congratulations Courtney & Andy!!

We spent last weekend making a quickie trip back to Michigan to attend my cousin Courtney's wedding on Friday evening. Court & Andy has asked Will to be the ring bearer (or ring bear, if you ask Will), so he had the sweetest little white eton suit to wear! He cried the WHOLE WAY DOWN THE AISLE. No joke. It wasn't the best scene. However, he recovered and partied with us till the wee hours! Ok, it was 10pm when he passed out on the dance floor, but still. It was great to see lots of Benore relatives that I ususally only get the chance to see on Christmas Eve or chat with on Facebook. The best part of the weekend was that Aaron came all the way from L.A. to hang out with us!! Will was over the moon excited to be with Uncle Bubby for a couple days!

Some great summer shots!

Just a few shots from our summer of fun....

Willie starts school!

Will's first day of preschool was September 1st! He attends Seeds of Faith at the Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church. He's in a 2's class that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He LOVES his teachers, Miss Mary and Miss Pam. They're really great with the kids. Will fussed a little on the first day, but since then he can barely stop long enough to give me a kiss and hug good bye before he runs into his room to play. One of the best parts of his class is that out of 8 kiddos, he's buddies with 3 of them...Jake, Katie and Jack. Very cool. I need to start scanning in some of his artwork for the blog. He's quite the little picasso!

Summer 2009 in Review

So if I'm really getting into this blogging thing, I thought that I'd back things up a bit and talk about the season that just passed. Summer 2009 was a fabulous couple of months for the Almeidas! We did some fun stuff, for sure.

It feels like we spent most of the summer wet and in the pool! Will surprised us all when he decided to become a fish...seriously! He went from clinging to me in the pool in May to running and jumping into the pool with no help in August. It was quite a change! We're definitely going to get him into swim lessons over the winter so that he keeps up with this love of water.

Will's other big accomplishment was moving into his big boy bed. Mommy was just do tired of hear a thump and having Will run into our room. We don't need another broken bone!
In June, we had lots of playdates and visited the Ft. Fisher aquarium and the beach. Of course, we hit the zoo in Asheboro before it got too hot (and stinky!)

Fourth of July was great fun and spent with friends and family at the Garner fireworks. They put on the most amazing show, including a live orchestra to go along with the fireworks. Plus, you can't beat that they whole show is only 5 minutes away from our house.

Will and I spent most of July in Michigan, as always. It was a chilly summer for those Grand Blanc'ers! We tried going to neighborhood pools a couple times, but it was so freaking COLD! We got the chance to visit both of the great-grandpas and lots of our cousins, which was awesome.

Will and I met Jason and Macie in Moorestown, NJ in the middle of July to celebrate Isabella's birthday and Andrew's christening. It was a very fun weekend with Jason's family!

From NJ, we returned to Michigan and Jason spent two weeks of vacation there with us...so much fun! We took lots of day trips to visit friends and family. We also spent a long weekend "Up North" in Manistee.

In August, we took a weeklong trip to Myrtle Beach with Uncle Bubby, Papa and Gigi. It was fun, fun, fun! Will adores his Uncle Bub, like I've never seen...it's crazy!

Such a great summer, great memories...but my favorite season is right around the corner!
